President and Board Member
Mr. Fawcett has over 40 years of experience in the commercial insurance and reinsurance business. His expertise spans both the domestic and international insurance and reinsurance markets with a focus on alternative risk transfer.
During his career Mr. Fawcett most recently served as President of a third-party administration company and as President of a reinsurance intermediary. Mr. Fawcett began his career as a broker at Lloyds of London specializing in North American non-marine business. After a transfer to the US, Mr. Fawcett continued his career in commercial insurance and joined the board of American Builders Insurance Company (ABIC) RRG in 2017 following the company’s redomestication to Alabama. Mr. Fawcett was appointed President later that same year.
Mr. Fawcett holds insurance agent licenses for property and casualty and for life and health insurance. He has also earned professional designations awarded by the American Institute for CPCU.
Treasurer and Board Member
Mr. Chesson’s experience in the commercial insurance business spans over 42 years beginning his career at the Hartford Insurance Company before moving to Zurich Insurance where he managed branch offices in Louisiana and Mississippi underwriting commercial lines business. Mr. Chesson was later promoted to Director of Field Operations for the U.S. Commercial Middle Market Division of Zurich. In 2003, Mr. Chesson joined AXIS Capital Holdings to participate in the build out of their U.S. operations, becoming President of the Global Programs Division. In 2017, Mr. Chesson joined BRIT Insurance to launch their Delegated Authority business in the U.S.
In 2020, Mr. Chesson formed an independent consulting business and was appointed to the Board of Directors for American Builders Insurance Company, where he presently serves as a Director and the Treasurer. Mr. Chesson is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in insurance.
Secretary and Board Member
Mr. Pettus has over 25 years’ experience holding senior positions including President of a third-party administration company specializing in workers compensation and liability claims management for the insurance industry. Prior to his insurance services career Mr. Pettus worked in the financial services industry.
Mr. Pettus Jeff graduated cum laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting. Upon graduation, Jeff joined the firm of Ernst & Young, LLP, where his primary focus was working with financial institutions.
Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Board Member
Ms. Newton’s 50-year career began with Gulf American, later know as American States, as an underwriter. After a 6-year stint in retail insurance agencies, Ms. Newton returned to underwriting with the Skandia Southeast Companies. Joining Meadowbrook Insurance Group 13 years later, she began her work for the Alabama Municipal Insurance Corporation (AMIC) program. Beginning in 2001 Ms. Newton has worked for AMIC as the commercial lines Underwriting Manager. In 2017 Ms. Newton was appointed to the Board of Directors for American Builders Insurance Company and was named Secretary the same year. Ms. Newton also serves as a board member of the Alabama Captive Insurance Association.
Ms. Newton graduated with a BA degree in Social Work from the University of Montevallo in Alabama. She also holds the IIA (Insurance Institute of American General Insurance) and CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designations.
Board Member
Mr. Sizemore has enjoyed a long and distinguished insurance career forming a retail insurance agency in Eastern Tennessee. He served as President of an insurance company and provides insurance regulatory consulting services.
In 1995 Mr. Sizemore was appointed as Insurance Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance until his retirement in 2000.
Mr. Sizemore holds a B.S. Degree from East Tennessee State University.
